1. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files that are placed on your device when you visit our Website. Cookies typically contain information about your preferences and behaviour. Among other things, they help ensure that the Website functions properly, that you are recognised when you revisit the Website, and that your experience can be improved by adapting content to your behaviour and preferences.

Unless they are strictly necessary cookies or analytical cookies with limited impact on your privacy, we require your consent before we can place cookies on your device. You can reject or delete these cookies in your browser settings at any time.

2. Cookies we use on our website

We use different types of cookies on our website, which are described below:

  • Necessary or functional cookies: these cookies are necessary to provide basic functionality and ensure the security and stability of our website. This includes essential functions such as remembering your choices. These cookies do not require your consent.
  • Analytical or performance cookies: we use these cookies to count the number of visitors and to see how visitors navigate through our website. This allows us to improve our website and the content on it, for example by ensuring that users can easily find what they are looking for.
  • Marketing cookies and similar identifiers: these cookies are used to show you messages tailored to your interests based on your online behaviour. We use the LinkedIn Insight Tag to track conversions and enable retargeting on the LinkedIn platform. We only use marketing cookies with your prior consent.

Where cookies are set by third parties, the table below contains a link to the relevant cookie or privacy statement of that third party with the necessary information on how those cookies are used.

The types of cookies used on our Website and their respective purposes and retention periods are set out in the table here.

3. Google Analytics and LinkedIn

We use Google Analytics’ privacy-friendly settings to minimise the amount of data collected and to limit the way Google uses it.

Google will not use the data obtained via Google Analytics for its own purposes or for advertising purposes, and the last 8 digits of your IP address are masked before the IP address is stored by Google. Furthermore, we have concluded a data processing agreement with Google and ensured that your data is not linked across different devices or used in combination with other Google services.

We use the LinkedIn Insight Tag, a piece of JavaScript code provided by LinkedIn, to track conversions from LinkedIn ads, enable retargeting, and obtain insights about visitors to our Website who are also LinkedIn members. The LinkedIn Insight Tag places a cookie in a visitor’s browser, enabling the collection of data including URL, referrer URL, IP address (truncated), device and browser characteristics, and timestamp. This data is encrypted, anonymised within seven days, and then anonymised data is deleted within 90 days. LinkedIn does not share personal data with us; it provides only aggregated reports about the Website audience and ad performance. You can opt out of LinkedIn’s interest-based advertising through your LinkedIn account settings.

4. Retention period

We use cookies for the duration of your browser session (session cookies), but cookies may also be placed on your device for a longer period (persistent cookies). The specific duration of each cookie is set out in the table in section 2 above. After this period, you will be asked to accept the applicable cookies again.

We have no control over the cookies or retention periods of cookies placed by third parties. For more information on the use of cookies by third parties, please refer to the cookie and/or privacy policies of those third parties, which are linked in the table in section 2 above.

5. Managing cookies

Where you give your consent to the use of cookies on our Website, you also agree that we and the relevant third parties may collect and use your personal data in accordance with this Cookie Policy.

You can choose not to provide consent to the use of cookies when you first visit the Website. You can also withdraw your consent and delete cookies at any time by adjusting your browser settings. Please note that certain functionalities of the Website may be limited or unavailable if you reject or delete certain cookies.

Most web browsers allow you to manage your cookie settings. These settings are typically found in the 'Options' or 'Preferences' menu of your browser. For more information, please visit the relevant help pages for your browser.
